Will ECU Remapping Damage My Engine?

Ace Remaps ECU Remapping FAQs – Will A Remap Damage My Engine?

An obvious question that most people ask about our ECU remapping service is “Will it damage my engine?” The short answer is No! But l think we need to explain a little more than this.

Firstly, all of the ECU remapping we do comes with not only alifetime warranty on the map itself, but also includes and industry leading limited mechanical & electrical warranty* for a minimum of 12 months, for your total peace of mind, This demonstrates the confidence we have that no damage will be caused to the engine (otherwise you’d be claiming on your warranty!).

All of the amendments we make to the vehicles engine management system settings during ECU remapping are as a result of many hours of development work by our technical team, and are well within the tolerances of the engines capabilities.

Modern engines are engineered to produce considerably more power & torque than their standard outputs. This is evident when you look at some manufacturers who use the same basic engine in different models with different bhp outputs. For example, the VAG group released the same basic 1.9tdi engine in variants ranging from 90bhp right up to 160bhp in standard form.

As long as the engine has been and continues to be well serviced in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations, it would be almost unheard of for you to experience a problem with the engine after ECU remapping with Ace Remaps.
